Forschung
I am interested in the topographic evolution of orogens, rates and processes of fluvial erosion, and understanding how landforms and landscapes evolve in diverse tectonic and climatic settings. In my research I typically apply GIS and remote sensing, low-temperature thermochronology, numerical modeling, and cosmogenic nuclides. My recent research has focused on understanding the Late Cenozoic uplift history of the Anatolian Plateau, using river incision history, 87Sr/86Sr stratigraphy, and structural mapping of the plateau margins. Future directions include investigations into how diverse landscapes have been impacted by climate change in the Central Andes in terms of changing erosion rates, vegetation, and stable isotope signatures.
