Forschung

I am interested in the interactions of the geo-, bio- and hydrosphere through the geological time and their influence on climate - and vice versa. 

I specialize in the development and refinement and application of novel molecular and stable isotope based proxies for the reconstruction of paleoclimates and to understand earth surface processes and their interactions with climate over geological timescales.I use such proxies to generate paleoclimate records over different timescales, with a special focus on the variability of the hydrological cycle over the Holocene.

I am leading the research group 'Molecular Paleohydrology and Earth Surface Processes' which is currently being transitioned to GFZ Potsdam, where I work as a Secior Scientist in Section 5.1 (Geoecology and Geormorpholgy). Learn about our current research projects here.
