Forschung

My current interests are,

(1) application of laser-heating 40Ar/39Ar dating method to Quaternary volcanic field or relatively younger geologic events, in order to obtain ex. higher resolutional, evolutional history of volcanoes and magmatic systems.

Some previous chronological studies on volcanic fields:

  • K-Ar geochronology of Quaternary Ojikajima monogenetic volcano group, SW Japan
  • K-Ar geochronology of Quaternary Aira caldera, SW Japan
  • K-Ar and 40Ar/39Ar analysis of Quaternary “Macolod Corridor” volcanic field, southwestern Luzon, Philippines
  • 40Ar/39Ar analysis of tephras in the drilled cores from Quaternary Eifel maar lakes 

(2) application of in-situ laser ablation 40Ar/39Ar dating or Ar isotopic analysis to extract geochronological/geochemical information from the rock or mineral with higher spatial resolution.
