Biography

Oct 2009 - present
PhD student, Institute of Earth and Environmental Science - University of Potsdam (Germany). Thesis topic: Applied Carbonate Sedimentology - Reservoir characterization of carbonate environments in the Norwegian Barents Sea
2008 - Oct 2009
3D Modeling and Reservoir Characterization lecturer (PetrelTM) at Institute of Earth and Environmental Science - University of Potsdam
2006 - 2008
Schlumberger Information Solutions (Petrel on-site support., Petrel commercialization and testing) - Venezuela &Trinidad and Tobago
2003 - 2006
Schlumberger Information Solutions (Seismic Information Management) - Mexico
2002 - 2003
Paradigm Geophysical & Geoprocesados.Geophysicist Jr. (seismic data processing) - Mexico
1997 - 2002
Dipl. Geophysics at 'Universidad Simón Bolívar' Caracas-Venezuela. Thesis: Seismic-structural interpretation of the Maracaibo Lake Basin

Research

My research topic is in Applied Carbonate Sedimentology, mainly focus in subsurface reservoir characterization of carbonate environments with integration of  2D/3D seismic, multi-attribute seismic studies using Artificial Neural Networks, well log analysis, seismic sequence stratigraphy, core data and comparison with surface analogues.

My principal project is in the subsurface of  Barents Sea and we are interested in characterize the Upper Paleozoic sedimentary units to asses their depositional evolution as well as post-depositional process, such diagenesis and karstification, that should impact the development of final porosity and permeability.

Teaching

3D Modeling and Reservoir Characterization (PetrelTM)

(winter and summer semester - course open to undergraduate, graduate students, and researchers)
