2001
Diplom (M.Sc.) in Geology, Potsdam University, Department of Geosciences: "The structural, petrological and geochemical evolution of the Lindås peninsula, SW Norway"
1997
Vordiplom (B.Sc.) in Engineering Geosciences, Technical University Berlin, Department of Applied Geosciences

Research

The focus of my present research is ultra-high pressure (UHP) mineralogy and petrology on natural and synthetic samples; the origin of mineral microstructures occurring in lithosphere fragments that experienced UHP metamorphism; the diffusion of elements in mantle minerals; the formation and evolution of sub-continental lithospheric mantle; the plate mechanisms at colliding continental margins.

Teaching

Microscopic analysis of minerals and rocks
