Research

Research Interest

My research interest focuses on understanding the stratigraphic signatures of tectonic and climatic processes using a multidisciplinary approach. Research involves geological field work, basin analysis, provenance studies, Fission track and (U-Th)/He thermochronology and paleomagnetic studies. 

For my PhD project I am willing to understand the role of regional-scale preexisting anisotropies in the development of compresional orogens and related intermontaneous basins. The main goal of my project is to constrian the deformation record of the Talas-Fergana fault and related structures in the Kyrgyz Tien Shan.

For my Master's thesis I studied the sequence of Andean thrusting in the frontal Eastern Cordillera and Llanos foreland basin of Colombia.
